Introduction

Nursing is an art as well as profession of scientific care. Nursing is a unique profession with a primary focus that encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of the individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings. It includes the promotion of health, the prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people. Nursing continues to be an indispensable service in the health care sector. Nursing practice is also continuously dynamic as it grows continuously through health care , research, education, quality improvement and advocacy.

College Of Nursing, Government Medical College, Budaun, U.P. has been established with a goal to become a benchmark in the field of Nursing Education and Research in India in the year 2022. This college affiliated by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Lucknow U.P. The first batch of B.Sc. nursing was started in November 2022 with an enrolment of 60 students.

To become one of the nation's top nursing institution that develop leaders in nursing and health care whose actions, discoveries and voices strengthen and advance the health of individuals and communities worldwide.

To promote and advance the health and well-being through excellence in nursing, interdisciplinary teaching, nursing research, practice and service while fostering diversity and inclusion.

Aims & Objective:

  • To train and educate nursing students so that they can contribute in all branches of nursing for promotion of health, prevention of diseases, maintenance of health and care during illness.
  • Ensure teaching excellence to prepare nurses and leaders, locally and globally who provide evidence-based patient - cantered care.
  • Engage in inter-professional relationships, collaborative research, and clinical partnerships to optimize student learning
  • Promote a culture of scholarship and contribution to the discipline to enhance the profession and knowledge of nursing

Aims & Objectives

B.Sc. Nursing

AIMS:

The aim of the undergraduate nursing program is to:

  • Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professionals, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.
  • Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, functions in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in a clinical / public health setting.
OBJECTIVES:

On completion of four-year B.Sc. Nursing Program, the graduate will be able to:

  • Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioural sciences, medicine including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of life styles and other factors, which affect health of individuals and groups.
  • Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
  • Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
  • Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the National Health Policies and Programmes.
  • Practice within the frame work of code of ethics and professional conduct, and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups, and members of the health team in order to promote effective inter personal relationship and team work.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical and community health settings.
  • Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.
  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical / community health settings.
  • Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to improve the quality of care.
  • Demonstrate awareness, interest, and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.

Evaluation Process

1. Evaluation methods-

  • During orientation the students are given a clear idea about the syllabus and evaluation procedure.
  • Before beginning the academic calendar Coordinators plans and prepares the schedule of examinations for the entire semester (Three internal exams conducted each semester).
  • Final exams are conducted at university level.
