Brief History

The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GMC) BADAUN (UP) is an autonomous medical teaching institute established by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh established since the 15th February, 2019.

(GMC) BADAUN (UP) was established with an aim to improve the status of health of the rural and urban population of western Uttar Pradesh, by providing a state of art health facilities as well as facilitating equitable access to quality health care through a revamped health care system, targeted outreach services as well as involvement of community and local bodies.

(GMC) BADAUN (UP)is located in Badaun, near Link Rd, Gunera, Wazidpur, Uttar Pradesh 243601 and caters to the districts of Badaun, Hapur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Mathura and neighbouring areas. The Mission of the institute is to provide comprehensive medical facilities to each and every life without discrimination along with developing (GMC) BADAUN (UP) as a center of excellence in the field of health delivery system, medical education and research.

The institute has state of the art infrastructure, well equipped high-end equipment and laboratories, along with Skill lab. The faculty is from reputed institutions, are highly experienced and dedicated, well versed in latest Medical Education Technology and trained in newer curriculum guidelines from the MCI. 5. The hospital is fully functional providing comprehensive care in all the specialties. The patient load in the OPD as well as inpatients is increasing day by day. There are approximately 1500-2000 patients are visiting every day and more than 200 patients are admitted in the hospital.

Activities:

The Government Institute of Medical College (GMC) BADAUN (UP) foundation, was laid on the 13th of May, 2008 by Honble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Ku Mayawati ji and hospital was named as Manyawar Kashiram Multi- Specialty Hospital.
The state assembly passed the bill on 4th of December, 2012 and proposed to rename the institution as Medical University and Allied Hospital.The building was then constructed as per the university norms.
On 2nd April, 2019, Honble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the hospital from Lucknow to commence the Out-Patient department.
For efficient functioning of the Out-Patient department, initially a team of 17 doctors were sent on deputation from the state medical services followed by 10 additional doctorsholding specializations to upscale the team of the hospital.
Emergency services commenced from the 15thof August, 2020 after which patients started coming to the Emergency Department. Records of in-patient registration were meticulously maintained by the department.
The department is running a successful Pain Clinic for 3 days(Monday, Wednesday & Friday) with Diathermic facility.
On 15th February, 2016, the institution was renamed as the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GMC) BADAUN (UP), started an M.B.B.S course and registered with Society as an autonomous institution on the lines of SGPGI Lucknow. Thereafter, appointment of teaching faculties and other employees were enrolled as per bye laws.
