Brief History
Pharmacology is a basic medical sciences specialty that deals with imparting knowledge and skills concerning with drug administration and their mechanisms, underlying their beneficial and undesirable effects on biological systems. Pharmacology generates new knowledge and tools that can lead to better treatments for devastating medical problems .
Activities:
The Department of Pharmacology aims to: • Develop and equip students with concrete foundation in basic pharmacology, toxicology and therapeutic applications. • Rational and scientific basis of practice drugs and participate in research. • Provide community services that will contribute to improvement in the quality of health care in the country. Teaching & research opportunities are satisfactorily met with the availability of well-equipped air-conditioned lecture halls, demonstration rooms with high quality audio-visual aids, various labs such as experimental, research & clinical pharmacology lab. Department has well qualified experienced faculty members. The effective teaching style of the faculty members engages students in the learning process and helps them in developing critical thinking skills.
